The Fourth XI picked up a long awaited and well needed win when they travelled to Hale Barns Sunday.
Stand in skipper Sam Higgins won the toss, put Hale Barns into bat and proceeded to open the bowling.
A solid start by the Hale Barns openers was soon cut short with Higgins (1-22m off 7) taking a useful caught and bowled followed by fellow opening bowler Rahul Geetala (2-33 off 6.4) dismissing H Ali for just 1 run.
Wickets fell as often as boundaries were scored with only Usman Tarar (37) scoring big for the home side before he was removed by Cameron Buchan in an excellent spell of 4-25 off 10.
The Hale Barns innings ended in stunning style as Mahmoud looked to have dropped a dolly from J Pope in cover before volleying the ball back into the air with his right foot and nonchalantly taking the catch at the second attempt.
Oli Bowden, making his first appearance this year for Brooklands began the visitors reply with youngster Pritvi Mody as the visitors were set a target of 128 to win.
Mody fell early and with Nouman Ayoub falling shortly after for 8, Mark Bloomfield joined Bowden at the crease.
Bowden, after smashing his way to a quick 28 was trapped lbw off the bowling of J Wylie (3-39 off 8) bringing Drew Hinde to partner Bloomfield.
With Brooklands at 37-3 it was left to the partnership off Bloomfield and Hinde to settle the innings as the pair put on a valuable 80 run partnership to bring the visitors within sight of victory.
Bloomfield scored rapidly on his way to an impressive 64 including two massive sixes in one over before he was excellently caught behind by keeper Manny Grewal.
With 1 run to win Hinde (29no) saw off a tricky over from S Ogden (0-6 off 1.1) before smashing the spin bowler back over his head for 6 to secure all 25 points within 27 overs.
