The third XI also contested a rain affected match. This time 37 overs a side against a Chelford second XI sitting pretty at the top of the league.
Chelford skipper Mohammed Irfan won the toss and chose to bat.
This looked to be a good decision, especially for opener Mohammed Zaman who blasted his way to 127* hitting 10 fours and 11 sixes along the way. Zaman had reasonable support for his century with the visitors declaring on 243-4 off just 32 overs. Pritvhi Mody shining for the home side with 3-57 off of his 8 overs.
Usual opener Ross Willard took to the crease with the returning James Hugall but was quickly back in the pavilion.
Hugall was joined by Wicket-Keeper Dan O’Gorman and the young pair put on a brave resistance before O’Gorman departed for 35, Hugall notching an impressive half century before he was dismissed.
Jaydutt Kamath hit a classy 33* and with Will Baxter (18) and Mark Nowell (17) getting the home sides total to 190 both teams walked away with 14 points.
Captain Batty was upbeat after the match: "A fair effort against a very strong batting side and an excellent innings from Hugall, in particular, in response. Can't argue with 14 points each!"
