The Third XI were at home, hosting Wilmslow Wayfarers Second XI on the back square. Wayfarers won the toss and elected to field.
Losing veteran opener and last year’s leading run scorer Ross Willard and wicketkeeper Dan O’Gorman early put the onus on the other opener, Alex Jones to keep the scoreboard ticking over and this he did scoring his first senior 50 before being caught for 60.
Paul Vesey (15) and Drew Hinde (13) provided some support as the home side finished on 160.
What looked like a competitive total was quickly chased down by The Wayfarers in 35 overs. M. Sultan top scoring for the visitors with 53 not out.
Pick of the bowling coming from Alex Jones (1-43 off 7) and Hannan Tariq (1-36 off 5.)
