The First XI looked to make it 4 wins on the bounce as they travelled to 3rd placed Lindow CC. This winning streak has coincided with skipper AJ Hart also winning the toss in each of the games and this omen looked to repeat itself as the hosts were put into bat.
Brooklands made some early breakthroughs reducing the home side to 58-4. AJ Hart (1-28 off 13) and Rob Leach (4-53 off 14) making good use of gloveman Ali Buchan who took a total of 5 catches from behind the stumps.
Osman Butt (39) and Charlie Williams (41*) steadied the ship for Lindow before Butt was removed by Leach. There wasn’t much fight left in the home side as Leach and Raj Singh (3-49 off 10) ripped through the tail who managed to see in the 50 overs finishing on 168-9.
In reply, Brooklands got off to a bad start with Chris Hart being dismissed after only 4 balls. However, an 87 run partnership from Jack Bagshaw (33) and Kevin Carroll (64) put the visitors back on track before Bagshaw fell.
Carroll fell soon after and a period of steady scoring but steady wicket loss followed with only Dave Madden (16) and AJ Hart (12) contributing anything in double figures.
Time, and overs, ran out for the away side who could only reach 151 from the 50 overs but picked up a useful 7 points.
