A game that had all the hallmarks of being a classic was cruelly cut short by the weather as the 1s didn't event get a chance to bat out their innings away to Mobberley.
The home side won the toss and put themselves into bat. Openers Nick Butters and Will Berisford-Ince proved this way an ideal decision as the pair put on 77 before Berisford-Ince was caught behind off the bowling of Caleb Jones.
Jones was to have an eventful innings, eventually picking up 6 wickets for 72 off of his 15 overs. Butters however, continued to impress as he smashed his way to 156 before falling to Rob Leach (1-75 off 13). By this time though, Mobberley had raced to a daunting 259-4 and although the tail failed to wag the home side reached 287-8 off their 50 overs.
The weather worsened at tea and a fired up Brooklands were unable to attempt a run chase and the match was abandoned.
The 1s will look to pick up another victory at home as they take on Stockport next Saturday at the BCG.
