The first XI hosted Tattenhall at the Brooklands Cricket Ground on a rainy Saturday that saw the game reduced to 38 overs per side. Tattenhall skipper Stuart Sadler won the toss and threw the ball to his opening attack of Andy Styan and Alan Brock to get the game underway.
Brooklands found themselves with some early rebuilding to do as Carroll and Christian Hart and Ali Buchan departed for just 35.
David Madden was joined at the crease by captain AJ Hart and the pair managed to stabilise the innings. The partnership reached 135 before Hart was dismissed for a superb 81 of just 59 balls.
Madden soon followed, bowled by Andy Styan who added to his early wickets, finishing with figures of 4-26 off 10 overs.
A quickfire 15 from Jack Bagshaw helped push the host to just 1 run shy of 200 when the 38 overs were up.
An early Brooklands breakthrough was required and promptly delivered by Hart, getting John Gibbon caught by Madden after just 2 balls.
Sadler and Coppack provided some resistance before Sadler was removed by Christian Potter (1-23 off 6) for 25. Tom Mitchell (1-10 off 4), Mark Law (1-33 off 8) and Luke Maitra (3-26 off 7) cleared up the rest of the middle order with Coppack remaining unbeaten on 93 as the final ball was bowled. Tattenhall finished on 166-6, picking up 8 points.
Brooklands picked up 13 points in this fixture with the result declared as a ‘Draw Batting First’.
Speaking to The Media Team after the match, AJ Hart commented: "It was great to see David Madden hit some form, and for us to dominate with the bat. Shame our bowling didn't fire for the first time this season. It was a real disappointment Tattenhall didn't make any effort to chase the total and the final score card flatters them".
