The Second XI began their season at home to Cheadle’s Second XI and after winning the toss, immediately put the visitors into bat.
Two early wickets for Tom Mitchell (4-43 off 15) and one for Second XI debutant Joe Gill (1-10 off 6) put Brooklands into a commanding position. Brief resistance was made by Cheadle’s Kevin Moss (31) before he became the first victim of two run outs by George Jones. Luke Maitra (2-16 of 6.4) and skipper Alan Millington (1-18 off 4) mopped up the remaining wickets leaving as target of 125.
The target never really bothered the home side as the polished off the runs in 35 overs. George Storrows 34 not out supported Luke Maitras impressive 86 not out to ease Brooklands to a 10 wicket victory.
