After winning the toss and electing to bat, Lindow immediately found themselves at 2-1 after AJ Hart made an early breakthrough. However, a solid second wicket partnership between Ryan O’Brien and Tom Parfett steadied the Lindow ship, seeing them past the 50 mark before Hart took his second wicket, clean bowling Parfett (30).
Lindow wickets began falling regularly with no one really being able to provide O’Brien with any sort of support. Christian Potter (2-29 off 7, Rob Leach (2-21 off 7) and Raj Singh (2-44 off 8) picked up the remaining wickets as Lindow reached 195-9 from their 50 overs. O’Brien being unbeaten on 81.
The Brooklands response started badly, losing their first four wickets for just 33 runs. It was left to returning skipper AJ Hart to steady the ship along with his brother Christian as the pair put on 86 before AJ Hart was dismissed by O’Brien (4-43 off 7.5) for 74.
Two more quick wickets fell before Christian Hart departed for 47 and at 163-8 the target still looked attainable. However, Brooklands fell just short being bowled out for 179.
