U11 SML finish season with victory over Whalley Range.

In 2016, we played Whalley Range in what was a very tight fixture. Moving on twelve months and in what was the last SML fixture of the season, the boys showed tremendous levels of improvement in an excellent victory. Batting first, Ben C, Sudanshu and Arjan scored well and quickly and with some great last minute boundaries from Otis, we scored a very healthy 118. Whalley Range started well but then some impressive tight bowling from Paddy, Calum, Luke, Ben L and Jeffo restricting them to 88 runs with Rory ripping the heart out of the middle order with 3 for 9 in his two overs. Well done to Max M on another very well taken catch!

It's been an excellent year for the U11 SML team - winning 7 and losing only 2 (Alderley Edge and Bowden) of their league matches. I can honestly say that it's been a real pleasure to coach such a great bunch of kids this year. They have been very competitive in what was for most of them, their first year of 'real cricket rules'.

Fingers crossed, they will get their rewards in the cup comps that we are still in.
