Brooklands U11's into Quarter Finals of Lancashire Cup

Brooklands U11's continued their great start to the season with a fantastic performance at Clifton CC. Bowling first, we restricted a team featuring a couple of Lancashires finest batsman to 282 with some outstanding bowling from all the team. Toby Gartside the pick of the bowlers 3-1-7-2 well backed up from Paddy Howarth and Ben Lomas who both bowled extremely well. With a run rate of over 5 required, Ben Cunliffe and Ben L got us off to a magnificent start putting on 36 in first 4 overs with some great running and hitting. This put the pressure on Clifton, so when Arjan Dhillon and Paddy strolled to the crease and put on a barnstorming 38 in 4 overs, we were nearly home. Some nerves showed in the 3rd pairing but Sudanshu Rajshetty and MoM Max Jefferson took us to safety and victory by 29 runs. Some notable shots from Paddy (Cover drive for 4) and Max Mitchell hitting a couple of lovely cuts in what was an excellent team performance.

Certainly our best performance of the season so far. Well done to the boys, you did yourselves proud.

Next stop will be deep into Lancashire heartland for a tough Quarter Final against Horwich or Heaton.
