The Third XI picked up all 25 points as they travelled to Wilmslow Wayfarers. The visitors took full advantage of the host rather gung-ho batting approach to skittle them for 94 from just 34 overs.
Skipper Andy Batty opened the bowling and proceeded to take out the Wilmslow top three on his way to season best figures of 5-43 off 14. Joe Gill bowled well on his return to the team and was unlucky not to pick up any wickets with a couple of chances being dropped in the field.
First change bowler Chris ‘The Raven’ Moore proved accurate and difficult to score off and after assisting Batty in removing the middle order, cleared up the tail end. Moore picked up the second 5fer of the game and was unlucky not to pick up a hat-trick as the Wayfarers provided little resistance.
Moore finished an impressive spell with figures of 5-18 from 9.4 overs. Only Faisal Ahmed showed any sort of composure for the home team remaining not out on 28.
Brooklands openers Ross Willard and James Hugall, who took 5 catches between them in the first innings, made short work of the run chase. Willard returned to big hitting form, smashing 7 fours on his way to 41 not out. Hugall also looked impressive on his way to 36 before being caught in the deep.
Dan O’Gorman joined Willard at the crease and after he had struck 3 fours off of 9 balls the game was over.
