After last weeks late victory the 3s were unable to bowl out Macclesfield in the final few overs of a hard fought contest. Batting first, the home side lost 4 early wickets to find themselves just 25-4 in the sixth over.
Daniel O'Gorman, who has been in spectacular form of late, impressed again with a well deserved 51. Young Shiraj Mody also impressed as he struck his way to a quick fire 30. Vice Captain Paul Vesey and unusually, Captain Batty who bats down the order, chipped in with runs to get the hosts to 178.
A hard task was made harder when the Macclesfield openers and middle order got the visitors to within 30 runs of victory at the 35 over mark. This could have been more if not for the exceptional bowling oh Shiraj Mody who, after excelling with the bat, finished with impressive figures of 0-6 off 6 overs, including 4 maidens!
Not to be outdone, Shiraj's younger brother Prithvi joined the attack in the later stages and starting taking on the Macclesfield batsmen himself. Removing 5 for just 25 runs off of 10 overs.
As the 44th over approached, Macclesfield found themselves 9 down needing just 4 runs to win. The new batsman Welsh calmly struck the ball to the boundary to win the game for the visitors and break Brooklands hearts in the process.
