The second XI hosted Davenham in a tight game at The BCG. Winning the toss, the home side put the visitors into bat. Tom Lett (2-51 off 11) picked up the first wicket, removing George Jones for just 10. Scarce resistance was provided from the rest of the top order with only Mark Jones (41) really troubling the scorers.
With wickets falling regularly and being shared around the home sides bowling attack Davenham batted out the 50 overs for 162.
A solid batting performance from the home side saw pretty much all the top order contributing to the run chase. Notable performances came from youngsters James Hugall (25), George Foreman (25) and established run getter Jaydutt Kamath (30).
A strong and stable batting performance from skipper Alan Millington saw the home team over the line with overs to spare.
