Cheadle Hulme won the toss in this one and elected to put the home side into bat first. Chris Hart and Kevin Carroll continued their opening partnership and after Hart departed early it was Ali Buchan who stepped up with the score at 2-1 to pile on the runs.
Buchan, along with Carroll (28), Jack Bagshaw (24) and Doug Whyley (30) brought the hosts to 176-5 before Buchan was bowled on 85 by Sohaib Abbasi (2-65 off 12). Mark Law partnered Whyley with a quick 24* to help The Bears finish their 50 overs on 228-7.
In response, Cheadle Hulme got off to a solid start with opening partners Mobashir Hasan and Jordan Potts putting on 38 before Hasan was caught by Tom Mitchell off the bowling of Christian Potter (2-61 off 15).
The Cheadle middle order remained solid with Hasan UI racing to 36 before being caught lbw by Luke Maitra (2-39 off 9) and Jordan Potts falling short of a century on 97. Juan-Jaques Strydom reached 42* as batting partners starting falling all around him.
Tom Mitchell (2-29 off) 9 returned to the attack to clean up the tail end with the help of Kevin Carroll (2-31 off 6) and as the 50 overs ticked by Cheadle Hulme found themselves 13 runs shy.
