Alan Barratt

It is with great sadness we report the death of Alan Barratt who joined Brooklands from Ashton-on-Mersey C.C. many years ago and who ended his playing days with us in the Veterans' side around 1996.  He was a great cricketer and sportsman and will be sadly missed.  Our condolences go to his wife, Ivy, who once worked at the Club for a while in her spare time, and to his family.

2010 dates for your diary!

Brooklands Cricket Club relies on some key fund raising events in order to continue providing the facilities required by the cricket section of the club.

We look for your support and hope that you will be able to come to some or all of the events listed below. Further details of each event will appear on the club website and you will notified by flier and/or email nearer to the date.

There is a new fund raising committee which hopes to provide events that you will enjoy and also raise badly needed funds for the club. We can be contacted via the email address fundraising "@" brooklandscc.co.uk. The members of the committee are currently John Riley, Kay Bagshaw, Martin Griffiths, Sarah Lalley, Dawn Page-Laycock and Angela Mather. Site Changes

P.S. If anyone wants a website doing and has some cash, let me know!

Hit for 6 - Fundraising scratchcards

To Juniors and Parents

An opportunity to win £50 - THAT’S FIFTY POUNDS !!

Fancy buying a new bat ?

Or maybe some smart looking batting gloves ?

Here is a chance to win some money and benefit Brooklands Cricket Club at the same time. Scratch cards are available at your net sessions via the coaches. Come to training with a little extra £ and you might be going home planning that visit to the sports shop. For the statistically minded, prizes are available at good odds - about a 1 in 10 chance.

BE IN IT TO WIN IT - HAVE A GO - HIT IT FOR SIX !!

Prizes above £10 should be sought direct from BCC U14s Coach Peter Whyley

To keep up-to-date with the prizes so far, have a look at Pete's Wiki page.

Bonus Ball Competition

This year the Bonus Ball competition will be running again, but we need more entries.

The competition will run for 30 weeks in all. Players are allocated a Number between 1 & 49. If that number is the Bonus Ball on the Saturday Lotto Draw, the player wins £25.
Players pay £1 per week. I prefer to collect the stakes in one go of £30, failing this in 3 lots of £10.

If you can enter the competition, or wish to keep track of the winners, please click here to see the BonusBall page on the BCC Wiki. My contact details for entries can be found on this page.
