Junior Trips
In the close season of 2007-8, Brooklands intends to run several
junior trips during school holidays and weekends. The trips have the dual aim of
raising extra funds for the club and of keeping all those players who made
important contributions to the club during the summer interested and involved
with the cricket section.

Stoke Water
World - 08/12/07
On 8th December we ran our second junior trip to Stoke Water
World. 13 juniors (including a new member) were accompanied by Andy Batty and
Paul Vesey for a 4 hour marathon swimming session in near tropical temperatures.
Despite blisters and a lost toenail, the trip was another great success. Thanks
again to Lisa Drakonaki and Kay Bagshaw, this time joined by Hash Maitra, for
helping with transport and agreeing to spend the day in the centre of culture
and entertainment that is Stoke (perfect for Christmas shopping, as long as your
relatives like MFI). I was asked to add an appreciative quote:

Once again, we raised more than £100 for club funds, which may
well contribute to the costs of the 2008 junior tour. We are currently
investigating options for the next trip, so if anyone has any suggestions,
please get in touch.
Paintballing (Northwich)
- 23/10/07
On 23rd October 2007, Brooklands ran its first junior off-season
trip to the GoBallistic Northwich paintball site. 15 juniors (whittled down from
17 by illness!) were accompanied by 4 senior players (Andy Batty, Mark Vesey,
Paul Vesey and Rob Holloway). Thanks must also go to Kay Bagshaw and Lisa
Drakonaki who were on hand to help out with transport and to act as
photographers!
The trip was a great success, raising over £100 for the club,
and all the lads played well and behaved excellently. Looking forward to the
next one already!
